It's my last day here.
Hugs -
I'm going to miss them.
Little voice -
I'm going to miss it.
Giant smiles -
I'm going to need them!
Legos underfoot -
I can probably do without.
Wednesday morning the train is taking me back home.
The good thing?
I'll be back in April to see him again and welcome the second little grandchild into the world.
Isn't life grand?
Yes, it really is.
You sound like my mom when she leaves my brothers' children who are far away. Great set of mages!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazingly different feeling, being a grandmother. I don't quite know what to do with it! It's like love doubled. I hope you get to experience it!
DeleteAnd I am going to miss reading about all the fun you have been having. But life is indeed grand and you are blessed - with more blessings to come in April. Have a good last day and a safe trip home.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the end of April! And the weather will be nicer, too!
DeleteThis has been a special time for you both. He will have changed so much by the time you return. What a happy return it will be!
ReplyDeleteIt's been very special. And you are right, he will have changed. Changes are happening so fast at this age.
DeleteBeautiful! Love the repetition then the " Legos underfoot -I can probably do without."
ReplyDeleteOh, those hard little blocks. And these are actually Duplos, so they are the larger Legos. Still not fun to step on! I remember them so well with my children when they were little...oh, and the Weebles! No Weebles any more, I guess.
DeleteI loved reading about your time with your little grandson. I could feel the love and fun you had. He sounds like a smart and active little boy. I am sure you are looking forward to begin another adventure when April arrives with a second gift. Have a safe trip. (loved the parking lot picture) Jackie http://familytrove.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI know everyone thinks their child or grandchild is the smartest on the block - or in the world - so that's how I know he isn't really! But he is pretty sharp, and we have had a blast!
DeleteI will, too. Whatever will you write about! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I will miss the stories of his escapades...some day, when I get that grandkid or two....I will do the same thing...I hope!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! The parking lot is totally what my basement looks like with my sons' cars and riding toys. This slice is great; so very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI've loved every bit of your time and stories told, Donna. What a pleasure it certainly is to be a grandmother!
