Surplus Plates for Sunday

Sunday is an "off day" for the A-to-Z Challenge, but not for me, since I'm also doing NaPoWriMo.  And I'm Tweeting an image poem with Margaret Simon. I still need to write a poem a day for April.  So here's my extra for today taken from the surplus plates I've photographed.

And I'm also featuring any poets who have taken up the offer to provide fodder for their poems this month.  Last week, I shared that week's Surplus Plate Poems here, in case you missed them!

  1. Hi Donna,

It's powerful seeing my tweeted haiku collected here with your inspiring license plates. I really have enjoyed contributing. Here is a poem for you from my gratitude for you:

    your words find
    an echo in my soul
    still vibrating
    drawing blocked thoughts
like a thorn from my paw

Also, I happened on an amusing vanity plate, not from Maine. It's WKDWITCH (NY). I went back and took a photo. If you want a copy for your collection, direct me to an email address. If you want my email for that, reconstruct friendlyfairytales at gmail.com.

I'm finding this poetry month stimulating and fun. The kids' school vacation week is coming, though, and it's always harder for me to write daily when the three of them are home. I might have to catch up here and there.

    Best,

    Brenda

    1. Aw! That was nice! Thanks!
WKDWITCH is a fun plate. I'll email you so you can attach the image, and I'll add it in on W day.
Maybe your kids would like to pick a plate to write a poem??? It might make a good blustery, rainy day vacation day activity. Hopefully there won't be one of those, but you never know.

  2. I'll look for your email, Donna. That's a fine idea about family poetry. All three of my kids write wonderful poetry. The oldest has been published twice. At least a couple days, when we'll be on the road driving to and from VA, I doubt I'll be able to keep up. You never know, though. Poetry is my medicine.
