A to Z on a Plate - R

Today is the letter R, and after writing the poem I realized I had really used two plates for this one.  It is also Spiritual Journey Thursday at Holly Mueller's site - Read, Write, Think.  It's word is Rejuvenation.  I tried to put that word in it to briefly and not very hard, but it was too much of a stretch for my brain at the time.  I will try a Rejuvenation post later today while I am riding in the car on our way home.  I went to Rhode Island with my husband this week and posted Tuesday's while on the road, too.
It's A to Z - so check out the A to Z Challenge link on the side navigation bar to meet more bloggers writing about R today.
Then check out the list on the side bar to check in on the Progressive Poem today, too.

Are You Salt?

Are you the Salt -
A preserver of life
A living example,
A comfort in strife?

Do you enhance
Stir positive feelings,
Bind up the wounds
Aid in their healing?

Being the salt,
Give reason to savor
Rejoicing in life
Adding more flavor.

Notes for this plate and poem:

Matthew 5:13
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Salt is used to preserve food. Followers of Christ are to be "preservatives" to the world.  Salt is also a flavor enhancer. Christians are also to “enhance” the flavor of life in this world, with  good.

See you tomorrow for a plate of S!

  2. What a great theme for the A/Z Challenge! I like all the plates featured here; one of my favorite things is trying to figure out what personalized plates could stand for (9 out of 10 times I'm totally off in my detective work with them).

I try to be salt, the world definitely needs more salt and light in it that can only come from Jesus.

    Lovely poem!!

almost at the end of the challenge :) we can do this!

  3. I am enjoying all of your A-Z plates and your amazing ability to find them and then write so cleverly about them! Today's speaks loudly to me. Thanks for the challenge I feel to be more salty - in a positive nurturing way! Can't wait to see the rest!

  4. I love your poetry, especially this one. It gives each individual a powerful thump to think about the legacy they are leaving behind.

  5. I'm in awe of people who can write poetry and I absolutely love the way these words sound aloud as well as the sentiment.

  6. I found an R plate I very much like, just today. I'm tweeting a haiku as usual under #imagepoems. Feel free to add my plate to your collection, but it's VA not ME.
