Just before mowing the lawn last week, I was able to capture a short video of the bluettes in the moving shadows. I love summer shade!
Green and white
Display
Of light
Playing tag
With breeze
Dark,
Light,
Dark,
Bright,
I wish I may
I swish I might
Shimmering
Patches moving
Swaying
Playing stars
Mottled mosses
Carpeting of damp
Browns grounded
Once swirled to fall
Now mounded
Sprout trapped
Sun lapped.

I love it all, but especially that you made the video so we could see, too, Donna. "Sun lapped"-wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis combination of spring suddenly in FULL bloom with huge, green leaves, the sun and wind playing with shadows, and my eyes seeing it all new AGAIN is just too much for me sometimes. I find myself just trying to take it all in as quickly as possible. Maybe it comes from losing it all twice. Whatever it is, I'm loving it and keep wanting more!
DeleteLove your shadow-dancing bluet video--they really do look like they are playing tag in the dark, light, dark, light!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the dappled poem!
