Progressive Poem

Oh, my word!  How could I have done this.... I have gotten so caught up in "stuff" lately, that the Progressive Poem, for the first time ever, was forgotten about!!!

I hadn't even read a line before just now at 3:30 pm Easter Sunday!  Can't believe it!

But here I am scrambling, rambling... ready to roll!

Each poet is offering two lines from which the next poet can choose, then that poet is offering two lines, and so on.

Let's see what we've got....

I’m a case of kindness – come and catch me if you can!
Easily contagious – sharing smiles is my plan.

And now I've been given the choice of two lines from Mary Lee...

I'll spread my joy both far and wide

Or

Puppies, babies – what makes you giggle?

I think I am going to go with -

I'll spread my joy both far and wide

So:

I’m a case of kindness – come and catch me if you can!
Easily contagious – sharing smiles is my plan.

I'll spread my joy both far and wide

And now my lines to contemplate, Irene!  Which do you like?  Either way, it's a couplet!

Let me cleanse the world like a rising tide

or

As a force of nature, I'll be undenied

I'd say more...but I'm LATE!!!!

Take it away, Irene!!!

  3. Love your offerings! (PS After all it was Easter!) In my first few years I agonized over my line so this method seems to have taken off a little pressure thanks to your idea last year, Donna! I have always loved watching this poem blossom. Thanks to Margaret and Irene for having hosted me and kept the tradition flowing so wonderfully.

  4. Yes two good lines! I'm catching up today Donna, saw the beginning and then missed the weekend.

  5. Donna, do not feel bad about coming late or forgetting what day it is. When you are haunted by so many things to do it is easy to happen. Both my husband and I say that. Now for the poem, for a person who slid into the PP, your choice for lines is wonderful.

  6. (A woman after my own life-on-the-edge heart. You see how late I am to reading this?) ;0)
Thanks for the chuckle and the line choices for Irene! I’ll go see what she did....

  7. I'm even later to the party, only just managing to catch up on the poem's development now! I love your two line offerings. It's so interesting to trace the path of the poem through from the two options on each day so far. :-)
