Umbraculum

The Ya-Du is a Burmese form of poetry.  It’s rules are fairly complicated.  I have written one using a few U words.  I don’t know why I attempted this today.  Not even sure I used my words correctly.  But here we go:

Ya-Du have 5 line stanzas - there should not be more than three stanzas.  The first four lines have 4 syllables each, and the last line can have 5, 7, 9 or 11 syllables. I did one stanza.  That was enough.

There is a climbing rhyme in syllables 4, 3 and 2 of both the first 3 lines and the last 3 lines e.g. in the first stanza. The last two lines rhyme in somewhat of a conventional way. There should be references to the seasons.  I marked the rhyming scheme with words that rhyme in the same color, so you can check the work...

Umbratic tree

shadows me in

Upsy usance.

I’ll twirl prancing

A dance uprist from under tree’s wing

Thank you to The Phrontistery for providing lots and lots of lesser used words!

upsy - in the manner of; thoroughly
umbratic - shadowy; providing shade
uprist - rising; uprising
usance - habit; custom
