Today is Y...tomorrow is the end of April! I always think to myself, "This wasn't so hard. I should do this in May and June, too! I should do it all the time!" But, no. No I shouldn't.
So here is the next to last letter of the alphabet for the Blogging from AtoZ Challenge 2026. I've written my poem and painted my watercolor. Enjoy, and I'll see you tomorrow! Bring refreshments and we'll party!

My Darling Yarling Dog
When hunger overtakes him
His yen’s like baby starling;
His yellowing could wake the dead,
He yaffs and starts in yarling!
His yikkering’s like bickering
Convincing me of yapness.;
As soon as he has had repast
He yedes yonside to napness.
He gets yawny, droopy, sleepy
He starts to yaw three times.
Yoiks! That pup is sound asleep –
My yen is that this rhymes!

yen - craving or yearning yellow - to bellow; to yelp
yaff - to bark like a snarling dog
yarling - wailing; howling
yikker - to utter sharp little cries yapness - hunger
yede - to go yonside - on the farther side of
yawny - prone to yawning; characterized by yawning
yaw - to move unsteadily side to side; to rotate about a vertical axis
yoicks - expression of surprise or excitement
