The Chickadee Award site is a good source for recently published picture books. The ease of the telling, the book suggestions, the aside about the haddock, the general purpose of the visit to read at a school.
I was struck by these phrases as well:
"I had to see if there would be anything remarkable about today. And there was."
"Things had changed. Things were different. But the stream of students headed out the front door was the same. The smells were the same. The after school chatter was the same."
"I was a teacher and a student. But then, I think I will always be both."
A great GREAT post!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604430404780110710.post-47512172483011039582014-03-04T00:11:57.458-05:002014-03-04T00:11:57.458-05:00Most of them had tried mango before. You also made me remember that when I returned to teaching a long time ago, the first thing I noticed was the smell. It isn't unpleasant, just is that 'school' smell. And now you said it too. Glad you had a nice day!Linda Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14983144542632353870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604430404780110710.post-90265899833847217082014-03-03T20:57:05.596-05:002014-03-03T20:57:05.596-05:00You brought reading joy to these kids today - brav...You brought reading joy to these kids today - bravo!Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13626451110946889157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604430404780110710.post-1281166588704206182014-03-03T19:35:04.354-05:002014-03-03T19:35:04.354-05:00I read aloud twice a week at my kids' school....I read aloud twice a week at my kids' school.Andrew Leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13964775673414653644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604430404780110710.post-54584251646958510612014-03-03T19:07:07.827-05:002014-03-03T19:07:07.827-05:00Ha!
