She often collected pebbles and shells in her walks and would amuse and occupy her grandchildren with wonderful projects: creating pictures, little towns and rock people with her "finds". Her grandchildren still remember these times spent with her to this day - far more so, I think, than playtime with expensive "Santa presents". Thank you for stirring the embers of a sweet reminiscence.Wendy Bourkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09475940407969993348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604430404780110710.post-8861675821122137642014-11-06T16:12:35.622-05:002014-11-06T16:12:35.622-05:00What a neat story about your grandmother. We would always be stopping along the highway in some wild place where she liked to pick up rocks. She had a place in her yard--like a flower bed almost--where she put them all. I like that she thought of you by bringing back special rocks for you. Actually this was more personal, I think, than buying a gift in a store.... It is nice that though she did not read stories to you she told you stories;and I bet those stories she told you are remembered much longer by you than stories others read to you. I enjoyed all of your pebble memories. The love of rocks and pebbles was what your grandmother passed on to you. This was a very special thing to share with you and while you will never know why she did not read you books, you still have that bond.Gabriellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09968615376035959259noreply@blogger.com
