G is for GMEABRK #AtoZChallenge

Day 7 is G. Welcome to Day 7 of the AtoZ Challenge!

It is my 8th year in participating in the AtoZ Challenge, and it is also day 8 of National Poetry Month, so I am writing poems from A to Z based on Maine vanity plates I've spied this past year.  The AtoZ does not have a letter for Sundays, but I will probably post a non-vanity plate poem on that day.
7th day of the Challenge, we are on the letter G.
G is for...

GMEABRK

Give me a break;
I have nothing to write -
Nothing to rhyme!
Nothing in sight!
I think I used all
that I had yesterday,
and now I have nothing,
nope, no more to say!
Give me a break
On to the next letter -
Maybe tomorrow
I can do better.

I used this vanity plate "GOFISH" yesterday for Sunday of National Poetry Month. Click here if you want to go there!  AtoZ Challenge doesn't post on Sundays.

  1. I have enjoyed reading your poems - a clever idea to expand on the leetspeak of numberplates.
Returning the A to Z visit - thanks for visiting my blog

  2. Ha ha! (I'm glad you wrote this poem because I was reading the license plate as "Game a brak" and I was pretty confused!)

    1. Lol! You get pretty good at reading them here. It's like understanding first grade writing when you've taught that age for a while. Starts to come naturally! Every once in a while I get confused, or it can be read two ways or it is so personal that you wouldn't get the "initials" unless you were that person!

  3. That's a good one! I didn't know what it meant until you "translated" it for me.
