A to Z on a Plate - J

Busy month.  I know I'm forgetting something...BTW, at 12:04 AM I remembered I hadn't done my J poem... I've been sick since Saturday, so haven't slept much for three nights - two were sitting up in the living room.  So I wrote this one this morning at 1 AM while I had nothing else to do...

J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J

Step lively, my friend,

Prance light on your toes;

Sway back and forth, then

Strike a disco duck pose!

This dance on the farm

Is the grandest of reels,

So pick up the pace

And kick up your heels!

I'll whirl us and twirl us

Until we get dizzy,

Then we'll stop for a bit

for a sip of a fizzy.

Then more waltzing around 

before cows hit the hay

And the roosters announce

That it's a new day.

The pony and fox will

Trot round the floor,

While the hens funky chicken

And geese conga some more.

The hoppingest rabbits

won't stop bunny hopping

Till they hear the sound 

Of the milkman's horse clopping.

We'll dance till the stars

Start saying good-morn,

And the crows start eating

their breakfast of corn.

It's a barnyard of fun

for the turkeys and pigs,

For goats and for horses

and all who love jigs!
