10,000 Day

My celebratory iPhone swirl at nightlights...looks almost like fireworks!

Today is the day!  I have had 10,000 hits on my blog!  Yea!

I've been blogging on Mainely Write for just under a year and a half...since March, 2011.  Over the past couple of days I've been watching the stats creep up to 9000 and past, and today, TODAY, I see 10,003.  I missed seeing the 10,000 exactly, but that's okay.  This is so neat.  Now, I'm going to see if I can get the next 10,000 in one year or less.  Not sure how that will happen, but it seems like a goal. I guess I could turn off the "Don't count my own hits" button.  I could really rack up the points that way!  But I won't do that.  I'd have hit 10,000 way before this if I had counted myself as a visitor!

I never had a goal when I started, except to write and write faithfully in a sort of faithful type manner, whatever that is.  I think I've been pretty faithfully writing, and oft times writing faithfully.

I need to think about how I want to celebrate my 10,000 mark.
I thank everyone who has been reading!
I hug everyone who has been commenting!
I love everyone who has been encouraging!
This is a good, no, a great day!
Celebrate with me...what should we do?

  1. So, now I will be 10,004! Congratulations, Donna. I don't know how we can celebrate, but since I've been a part of those 10,000, I want to tell you how much I have enjoyed your posts, your writing, your journey. There are a few of us who started that March & we're still going... It's been quite a great time! Perhaps you can show us some ocean pics this week-I love them! Whatever you do, love each minute!

  2. Good morning! Thanks, Linda! I LOVE you!!! You are so encouraging all the time! I'll post a picture of the ocean tomorrow, just for you! Enjoy that grandson. I get to go see mine for his first birthday next month! How can you not love each minute, even in the hard times, when you see these little grandkids - our glimpses into pasts and futures!

    1. It's so great we can exchange grandchild stories! My littlest, Imogene, is one on Sunday, just a bit older than yours. Carter is coming Sunday & we're going to do some things in the area, take Ingrid to the zoo so he can be with her a little bit, etc., then we'll driving south to Santa Fe to check out the tourist sites there & his parents will join us on Friday. It'll be a good week I know.

  3. Hey, congrats! I didn't do anything for my 10k mark, but I am having a contest for my 200th post, which went up today. That seemed like so much more of "thing" to me. I just can't seem to figure out what drives people to my blog, so it seemed kind of weird to talk about it. I mean, this week, for some reason, I've been getting tons and tons of hits on my review of the Hunger Games movie from back in May. Why are those hits coming now? It doesn't make any sense to me.

    1. Yes, I know what you mean. I'm still getting lots of hits on ones I did in the early spring...no comments now, but someone's looking at them. Of course, I don't have any idea how many are just bots out there, but I'll take 'em. Maybe I'll think of something special to do for my 300th post. I didn't do anything for 200, but it would be nice to try something fun.
And BTW, congratulations on 200th post! I've been to your site and left my "comment entry" earlier today.
