Non-Prose Promise

I am so tired,
I need to sleep,
But my April promise
I must needs keep.

So here I lie,
Abed with pen,
And I'll write words
That rhyme again

Actually,
A pen it's not,
It's my MacBook
On which I jot.

So anyway,
There you have it,
Sustenance for
My new habit!

And now at last
My eyes may close
And make an end
To this non-prose.

  1. I looked up 'time to make the doughnuts. We were in Colorado & didn't have Dunkin' Doughnuts-only knew them by traveling to Boston; my daughter in college there & studying American history with my class. The ads are terrific, as is your non-prose. Such a clever title, & you do so beautifully with the rhyme, short lines or long!
